Abstract
Examining the interpretation of the verses of Maad with about a quarter of the volume of the Holy Quran has a great impact on the knowledge of the basics of a Quranic commentator; especially since the topic of Maad is related to the future and the majority of its propositions are considered unseen and imperceptible matters. The commentary written by "Mohammed Ezzat Darwazah" is one of the contemporary commentaries that has some features, including following the order of revelation of the surahs in a historical manner. On the other hand, among the contemporary interpretations, new approaches sometimes lead to extremes and violations of the accepted principles and foundations among Muslim scholars; it is like humanizing the origin of the Qur'an. Therefore, it is necessary to examine the foundations of this commentator in "Al-Tafsir al-Hadith". This research was done by descriptive-analytical method and the data is collected as a library. The present research has reached the following conclusion by examining the interpretation of the verses related to resurrection in Al-Tafsir al-Hadith: In the context of the resurrection verses, Darwazah considers the language of the Qur'an according to the Arab customs of the time of the rise of Islam; Generally, he considers the symbols related to the Maad in the Qur'an to be allegorical; It has a rationalistic approach and has interpreted the Nass of the verses with the method of Ta’wil; Belief in the appearance of the Maad verses has emphasized and stopped at the details and apparent conflicts of the verses. These characteristics have caused this interpretation to be placed in the middle of two irreconcilable attitudes.
