The discourse on Taqrib (rapprochement) among Islamic schools of thought, despite extensive theoretical emphasis, has in practice largely remained at the level of theological dialogues and ethical recommendations. It has rarely succeeded in transforming into an effective strategy for sustainable convergence between Islamic sects. One of the contributing factors to this situation is the type of exegetical approach to the Holy Qur'an, which in many cases has led to a focus on doctrinal and theological differences, marginalizing the unifying potentials of the revealed text. Adopting a descriptive-analytical approach, the present study attempts to examine the possibility and function of the civilizational interpretation of the Qur'an in redefining the discourse of Taqrib among Islamic schools of thought. The findings of the research indicate that civilizational interpretation, by focusing on the macro objectives of Qur'anic guidance and the objective necessities of Islamic civilization, elevates the level of engagement of Islamic sects with the Qur'an from theological conflicts to shared social and civilizational responsibilities and concerns. In this framework, the Holy Qur'an is re-read not as a divisive text, but as the civilizational charter of the Islamic Ummah. The conclusion is that the civilizational interpretation of the Qur'an, by highlighting fundamental Qur'anic commonalities, can pave the way for practical convergence and civilizational cooperation among Islamic schools of thought, thereby elevating the discourse of Taqrib from a theoretical project to a functional and sustainable strategy.
